The best part about moving house for me is getting to decorate a whole new room! Towards the end of Summer, I moved out of my first student flat and into my second.
Let’s be honest, student housing isn’t the best, nor is it the prettiest. But, it’s yours for a year (or even two) so you’re going to want to make it your own somehow.
I had to make do with a partly-furnished bedroom, but after a trip (or two) to Ikea, I managed to transform my little bedroom into a cosy corner.
When I finished decorating, I wasn’t completely happy as my walls were dull and plain and I wasn’t sure how I could decorate them without damaging the walls.
That’s why I was so excited when Desenio gave me the opportunity to collaborate with them. They were kind enough to let me choose a selection of prints and frames to decorate the bare walls of my university flat and they certainly have transformed the room (for those of you wondering how I hung them, I used command hooks for picture frames)!
First and foremost, I knew that I wanted some kind of quote. When I saw this poster, I had to get it! The quote is by Coco Chanel and says: “Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself”. It’s a quote that I’ve known and loved for many years and I think the design of the poster is so pretty and elegant. I only saw it fitting to place two Chanel inspired posters either side of it with a pink perfume and lipstick.
The posters are very simple but they add a lot to the room and an otherwise plain wall. Of course, I chose gold frames to add a little extra to it. and I couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out.
I thought this line drawing was quite interesting, plus it had a pink background, so I picked this one out as well. Instead of hanging it on a wall, I thought it would look cute on my little table just leaning against the wall.
Desenio were kind enough to create a code for me to give you guys! Use ‘LETICIAJCOLLINS’ to get 25% off your prints! It’s valid until November 29th so make sure to hurry.
(This code cannot be used on frames or handpicked-/collaboration posters)
